The display symbol instead of text does not work on the Apple Watch 4. Apple Watch METAR now updates when you hit refresh and updates by itself around 1-2 hours. Quick response, or maybe I was too quick with the updates.

The previous update was much better even though it was 2-3 hours between updates. I’ve reset both phone and watch and reinstalled on watch. There is information on the Lakehorn site on how to form the URL to create a group. I could also see this being used by flying clubs to create a list of local airports with the link being posted on the club website. What I have done with my html flight version of the flight plan could easily be done by any corporate IT department or any other flight plan producer. When the pilot opens the group the airports are listed in order of origin, destination, and then airports along the route in order of distance to the destination. The group that I create for each flight is titled by the flight number and dates. This link is also formatted as a QR code so that a pilot can scan the QR code shown on the iPad and open the group on an iPhone. I then create a link that opens a group of airports in AeroWeather Pro. The way that I use groups is that I have a website that takes the plain text of our plain text flight plan and converts it to html. This is a great app even if you don’t use groups, but groups adds a great extra layer of functionality. You can form a group represent commonly used airports for a geographic region. Groups is a hidden gem in the pro version. The app itself is great, but I wanted to post about a hidden gem of a feature that makes it even more useful.
